Senior Engineering Director, Direct to Consumer
Job Description
Ibotta is looking for a Senior Engineering Director to join our innovative team and contribute to our mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding. As a Senior Engineering Director focused on Direct to Consumer initiatives, you will lead our team in building remarkable consumer products. We are looking for someone who drives innovation while ensuring stability and quality of our apps that are used by millions of consumers. We’re looking for a senior leader eager to drive a strong engineering vision, partner strategically, and lead the Direct to Consumer engineering organization while fostering a collaborative, inclusive culture. The Direct to Consumer Senior Engineering Director will also be looked to for having a positive impact across the broader engineering team.

Develop and deploy new strategies for building a highly engaged development organization that delivers predictably and in line with our emerging customer needs.

Ensure timely delivery of engineering solutions to meet business needs while providing a transparent view to progress.
Communicate technical concepts to business stakeholders as well as communicate business objectives to the technical team.Â
Collaborate across functional areas to define and prioritize technical solutions that support business needs, efficiencies, and revenue.
Partner with Product Management and Architecture to prioritize, scope, and plan business milestones and set goals.
Foster an organization that understands how to balance technical debt vs. feature delivery.
Coach and develop engineering directors and managers, believing they are mission-critical.Â
Support technical innovation and lead the creation, continual refinement, and active enforcement of our development standards to ensure that our technology enables a sustainable competitive advantage.
Build an organization that is staffed for success, and has appropriately high technical competence that strives for excellence.
Research new approaches and technologies to stay abreast of industry trends and standards.Â
What we are looking for:
5+ years of engineering management experience.
10+ years of experience in software engineering.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics or a related field required
Experience managing managers, directors, and leading an organization of over 75 members.
Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders including customers, senior management, and other business leaders.
Highly skilled at agile software development, methodologies, and management.
Has had exposure to multiple languages and frameworks as either an engineer or manager.
Understanding native mobile app development and frontend web development.
Experienced with security, cost, performance, scale, and reliability strategies.
Highly effective performance manager and comfortable managing team members with different skill sets and technical expertise.
Motivated by a fast-paced and adapting environment.
Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication.
Has worked with cloud-based data architectures and platforms (AWS preferred) and experience with DevOps culture. DevSecOps is a plus.
Experience with event-driven architectures and platforms is a strong plus.

Additional Details:
This position is located in Denver, CO or with the option of full-time remote and includes competitive pay, flexible time off, benefits package (including medical, dental, vision), Lifestyle Spending Account, 401k match, profit sharing and equity. Candidates must live in the United States, Canada, or Mexico.
Base compensation range: $180,000-$200,000.Â
Total compensation for this role also includes a variable component in addition to base salary.
