We are seeking a Senior Manager of Software Engineering specialized in AI/ML, platform and cloud native development to join our growing team of talented Machine Learning Engineers and Data Scientists. This role will be responsible for leading one or more software engineering teams to build a robust artificial intelligence and machine learning platform using best practices of software development and system design. This role will be reporting to the Director of AI Engineering and will be a key engineering leader inside the UKG AI value stream. The ideal candidate is an experienced software engineering leader who has worked on building scalable intelligent applications in an established SaaS company.

Job Responsibility

• Lead and drive the strategy, vision and roadmap of creating robust and scalable core AI/ML foundation and infrastructure including but not limited to feature store, distributed ML model training, ML model management (versioning, evaluation, monitoring and retraining)• Work with data science partners and domain engineering teams to understand the AI/ML use cases and build corresponding foundations for personalization, NLP, forecasting, etc.• Be a strong engineering leader responsible for executing the AI/ML foundation roadmap using agile practice• Manage, lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams of software engineers to achieve strategic and tactical business outcomes• Mentor and grow multiple teams of engineers, technical leads, and engineering leaders• Influence key decisions on architecture and implementation of scalable, reliable, and cost-effective engineering• Iterate quickly without compromising quality and raise the bar on operational excellence

• 10+ years of experience with increasing responsibility leading a data or/and AI related organization within a complex global business environment• Experience developing large-scale ML services used by million scale users• Experience implementing data and AI solutions in a product-driven technology environment• demonstrated ability to skillfully hire, develop, lead, motivate, performance manage, and coach a cross-section of data and technology professionals and managers.• Highly technical, confident at the operational management level and comfortable in an engineering heavy organization.• Track record of being a strong leader, with the ability to influence throughout the organization, across all divisions and effectively communicate a business vision, key objectives, data needs and personal contributions.• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Data Science, Computer Science or equivalent
