Senior Engineering Manager - Feed

As the Leader of Feed Infrastructure, you will lead a team responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of Nextdoor's core feed system. Your expertise will be vital in designing, implementing, and optimizing the infrastructure that enables neighbors to connect, share, and engage effectively within their communities. You'll collaborate cross-functionally to align technical solutions with business objectives and contribute to the strategic direction of Nextdoor's product evolution.

As the Leader of Feed Infrastructure at TeamNextdoor, you'll have the opportunity to manage a talented team and drive the evolution of our platform to create a seamless and delightful experience for neighbors around the world. 

Your responsibilities will include: 

• Lead and mentor the Feed Infrastructure team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and growth
• Architect and oversee the development of scalable and reliable feed infrastructure that supports seamless interactions for millions of users
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and data teams to define the technical roadmap for the feed system and ensure alignment with overall product strategy
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, optimizing system performance, reliability, and scalability
• Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies, applying your insights to enhance the feed infrastructure and overall user experience
• Represent the Feed Infrastructure team in cross-functional meetings, contributing to product development discussions and decisions
• Participate in in-person Nextdoor events, trainings, off-sites, volunteer days, and other team building exercises
• Build in-person relationships with team members and contribute to the KIND culture that Nextdoor values

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering or related technical roles, including experience in building and scaling large-scale systems
• Strong experience in managing technical teams and driving project execution
• Proficiency in system architecture design, performance optimization, and ensuring high availability
• Deep understanding of backend technologies, databases, and distributed systems
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and data
• Experience with agile methodologies and fast-paced development environments
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Compensation, benefits, perks, and recognition programs at Nextdoor come together to create one overall rewards package.

The starting salary for this role is expected to range from $230,000 to $330,000 on an annualized basis, or potentially greater in the event that your 'level' of proficiency exceeds the level expected for the role. Compensation may also vary by geography.

We also expect to award a meaningful equity grant for this role. With equal quarterly vesting, your first vest date would be within the first 3 months of your start date.
