About the role:
We are in search of a self-motivated, solution-oriented and experienced Senior Engineering Manager to join our Affinidi Elements team. In this role, you will work with global peers on teams dedicated to areas of the product portfolio, from the product, design, infrastructure, architecture, and back/front-end engineering teams. You will be responsible for leading teams, where your expert skills in designing, architecting, and building quality systems will intersect with your leadership skills of building high performing team culture and growing your team members. This position reports to the Director of Engineering.

What’s in it for you:
- Lead several engineering teams to develop features and improvements to the Affinidi Elements product in a secure, well-tested, and performant way.
- Collaborate in building the product and technology roadmap with peers, product managers, designers and stakeholders.
- Oversee the design, development, and delivery of high-scale consumer-facing production systems that meet performance, security, reliability, and scalability requirements.
- Ensure the team's adherence to high-quality coding standards and practices, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Identify and address technical challenges, risks, and opportunities, proactively mitigating issues that may impact project delivery.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting knowledge sharing and effective communication.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies, leveraging new tools and techniques to enhance our systems and processes.
- Champion a customer-centric approach, ensuring that our systems deliver exceptional user experiences and meet the needs of our customers.
- Lead by example and constantly coach and mentor engineers in achieving the next level of career and professional growth.
- Lead and create a diverse, dynamic, collaborative, transparent culture where everyone's ideas and opinions are equally valued
- Champion a customer-centric approach, ensuring that our systems deliver exceptional user experiences and meet the needs of our customers.
You will be a great match if you:
- Have a minimum of 14 years of overall experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing engineering teams.
- Have experience with performance and optimization problems, a demonstrated ability to both diagnose and prevent such problems, and a desire to share your knowledge and scale through others.
- Enjoy leading the engineering team in a fast-paced startup environment where the team can be autonomous and experimental, be part of a truly global team, and can work up and down the stack.
- Have experience with languages like Javascript, Typescipt, Node.js, React, Dart. Other languages (CSharp, C++, GoLang, Rust for example) are also attractive skills for this role.
- Have expertise in cloud computing and native environments (AWS serverless preferred).
- Care about privacy by design, security, testing, high-performance systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, delivering high-quality results on time and within budget into production.
- Have excellent problem-solving skills, with a proactive and strategic approach to addressing technical challenges.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Have experience with various development methodologies and practices.
- Have a passion for technology and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
- Enjoy mentoring others, and are inclined towards clear communication, inclusion and visibility.
