Ibotta’s is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to join our innovative team and contribute to our mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding. The Senior Engineering Manager will lead our Site Reliability Engineering team in building our secure and scalable infrastructure. At Ibotta, our engineering team is organized cross-functionally by squads that work on a variety of solutions for the company, including the platform powering our apps that are used by millions of consumers. We’re looking for an experienced manager that is inspired by mentoring a talented group of world-class engineers and acting as a technical coach when needed.

This position is located in Denver, Colorado or with the option of full-time remote. Candidates must live in the United States, Mexico or Canada.

What you will be doing:

  • Own product strategy and project management for the Site Reliability Engineering team.

  • Support our IPN Operational Strategy throughout Ibotta by enabling and educating teams to establish the use of software as a tool to manage systems, solve problems, and automate operations tasks.

  • Empower engineering teams to build and operate secure, scalable, fault-tolerant, services. 

  • Be an expert at the ownership and operation of reliable services at significant scale

  • Work with stakeholders to build technical roadmaps to reach business goals.

  • Foster a positive engineering culture in line with Ibotta’s values.

  • Ensure your squad has the people needed to be successful

  • Support timely delivery of engineering solutions to deliver business needs, while providing a transparent view to progress

  • Actively coach and mentor team members in their careers

  • Be a reliable decision maker

What we are looking for:

  • 5+ years of engineering management experience with a proven ability to build awesome, high performing teams and lead complex technical initiatives

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics or a related field required

  • 5+ years of experience as a software engineer, preferably with an internal tooling or infrastructure focus

  • Experience with applications and infrastructure at scale 

  • Experience working directly with cloud platform technologies, including AWS, automated CI/CD pipelines, quality and observability tools, and monitoring and alerting systems

  • Experience managing vendor relationships and the requirements for 3rd party tools

  • Understands and has led agile software development and management

  • Comfortable coaching team members with different skill sets and technical areas of focus and expertise

  • Motivated by a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication

Additional Details:

  • This position is located in Denver, CO or with the option of full-time remote and includes competitive pay, flexible time off, benefits package (including medical, dental, vision), Lifestyle Spending Account, 401k match, profit sharing and equity.

  • Base compensation range: $155,000 - $175,000. This range is not all inclusive as total compensation for this role also includes a variable component in addition to your base salary.
