Senior Engineering Specialist

Eaton's Corporate Technology Office is currently seeking a Senior Engineering Specialist to join our team. This position is based at our Golden, Colorado location. This role is open to a hybrid work schedule. This role offers relocation assistance as well!

Position Overview:

Eaton Research Labs (ERL) is currently seeking for a Senior Engineering Specialist - focused in developing technology in the emerging EV Charging Infrastructure to join our team in Golden CO. The primary role of this position is to enhance the state-of-the-art fleet, en-route, and other charging solutions in North America. This position also has opportunity to work with global teams to advance the regional requirements.

This position will lead research and development of EV charging solution to address impact of EV to the modern power grid and integration challenges. The Sr Engineering Specialist will report to Global Technology Manager and help identify key technical gaps and influence technology roadmap for Eaton's EV charging products and services. This work will help businesses across Eaton solve critical business problems and uncover new business opportunities.

In this function you will:

• Develop and design new technologies for EV charging infrastructure in both AC and DC systems and help Eaton's products and services to differentiate and lead in the emerging market.
• Lead and drive R&D proposals and build technology pipeline
• Develop and execute agile work plans for iterative and incremental project delivery, participating in design and implementation reviews
• Evaluate business requirements and consult with business stakeholders to determine novel solutions to targeted problems for end-users
• Innovate, invent and challenge state-of-art design & process by securing critical intellectual properties through patents and publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
• Support global technology programs utilizing Eaton's internal PreLaunch and AgileStartsTM processes including Gate Reviews, Technology Reviews, and Project Reviews.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Electrical engineering or related field
• 7+ years industrial or entrepreneurial experience or higher degrees can substitute some of the experience

• 5+ years of progressive experience in developing and designing technology solutions with a proven track record of developing high-quality technology in EV infrastructure design and implementation
• Extensive knowledge in EV charging, power systems, power electronics, communications, and control of DER

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ph.D. degree in Electrical engineering or related field
• Demonstrated strong experience in EV fast charging research and application development.
• Extensive knowledge of the state-of-the-art DC and AC solutions for EV with good understanding of market trends.
• Experience with system engineering and integration projects and be able to identify and address technical and engineering challenges.
• Thorough understanding of forecasting, optimization, and design processes.
• Demonstrated experience with delivering minimal viable products in the relevant areas.

Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices. The annual salary range for this role is $118,000-$162,250 a year.
