Eaton's Vehicle Division is currently seeking a Senior Engineering Technical Problem Solver to join our team. This position is based at our Galesburg, MI, Marshall, MI or Southfield, MI facility and offers a hybrid working schedule. Relocation assistance is also offered.

Position Overview:

The primary function of this role is to lead the strategy definition, deployment, and execution of problem solving and problem prevention methodologies for the Vehicle Group. This role will be a part of the engineering functional excellence organization and will impact all product lines across Vehicle Group.

In this role, you will:
  • Drive the proper use of problem-solving processes, tools, and techniques throughout the Vehicle Group, including Lean Six Sigma and Shainin Red-X
  • Define, improve, deploy, and mentor others in problem prevention methodologies, including Design for Six Sigma.
  • Mentor and coach engineers through their problem-solving and problem-prevention technical development, including providing technical expertise when needed. Able to advise individuals on personal development plans.
  • Collaborate with product line engineering managers to develop a pipeline of problem-solving talent throughout the organization
  • Ensure transfer of technical learnings from problem solving efforts across Eaton businesses and product lines
  • Demonstrated ability to lead problem solving teams and solve technical problems in situations with high customer and leadership visibility,
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead large projects and programs. Provide leadership/mentoring/oversight of projects with issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and present technical materials for internal presentations to senior leadership as well as external presentations at conferences.
  • Represents Eaton at industry associations. Demonstrated networking connections across technical communities both internal and external.
  • Key contributor in the identification and justification of global process or tool improvement infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution
  • Design for Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt required
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in problem solving in new product development and manufacturing
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Shainin Red-X Journeyman or Master certification
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
