MITRE's Department of Strategic Management Systems within the Enterprise Strategy and Transformation Center works in partnerships across government agencies to establish management practices needed to achieve mission success.

We will provide you with challenging opportunities to apply and expand your business strategy acumen, assess governance, develop, and implement performance metrics, apply analytic skills, and assist government agencies with strategic innovation and transformation. You will use your abilities to address complex issues of critical national and global significance. As our Senior Enterprise Business Strategist, you will work on a team to provide technical capabilities in the area of strategic management.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Assist government leaders in defining the vision and determining the direction of change through a period of major government transformation.
  • Work with government leaders to translate their mission, vision, goals, and strategies into actionable programs within a coherent concept of operations.
  • Support the development of agency-wide or government-wide strategic and transition planning activities.
  • Establish enterprise governance with associated practices and mechanisms.
  • Help develop performance management plans; defining metrics, sourcing valid data, and using the information to evaluate progress and determine future investment of time and resources.
  • Analyze the current state and support the design of objective future business operations for federal departments and agencies to aid Government decision making.

Requirements / must have for consideration:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Information Systems Management, other technology-related disciplines or combination of related education and work experience
  • Must be a US citizen capable of obtaining and maintaining a US government clearance.
  • 5 + years related experience (Federal consulting experience preferred)
  • Documented success defining performance metrics, sourcing valid data, and using the information to evaluate progress and determine future investment of time and resources.
  • Ability to conduct research and present findings and recommendations that effectively communicate key messages.
  • Significant experience working in teams.
  • Proven capacity to learn quickly.
  • Proven history of taking feedback and adjusting course.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree/ MBA
  • Preference given to qualified candidates with active clearance.
  • Documented success in consulting support to Federal government clients
  • Experience working with multiple Government departments or agencies is preferred, but experience working on transformational projects in other complex environments may be considered.
  • Experience in convening stakeholders to address critical challenges in (1) climate and environmental change impact, (2) domestic and global security and resiliency, and/or (3) national and international cybersecurity challenges, system vulnerabilities and designing and implementing mitigations to maintain highest levels of security.
  • Familiarity with BPMN / Lean Six Sigma
