Senior Events Manager, Corporate Events 

We’re seeking a skilled, empathetic, creative, and self-motivated planner with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for building experiences that engage, connect, & inspire the amazing humans who make up our community.

The Sr. Events Manager will collaborate cross-functionally with partners including Content, Design, Demand Gen, Revenue, and Product Marketing, to tell Fastly’s unique brand story through thoughtful event experiences. This group is responsible for a portfolio of external, high-profile event programs attended by Fastly customers, prospective customers, sponsoring partners, analysts, and employees. The purpose of these events is to increase brand awareness, develop and advance the company's sales pipeline, and educate and empower attendees. This role will report to the Director of Events and be primarily responsible for the logistical execution of tier one hybrid and digital events, including Black Hat, RSA, and Fastly’s flagship Altitude Summit. As the operations lead, this role will carry out pre-defined strategy and be on point for leading event logistics, cross-functional workstream management, partner agencies and contractors, and project results. 

What You'll Do:

  • Execute on Fastly’s tier one events and lead event logistics, cross-functional workstream management, partner agencies and contractors, new strategic approaches, and project results
  • Create project scope and work collaboratively with other departments to autonomously lead event aspects including content development, creative/design, demand generation with field marketing partners, staffing
  • Negotiate sponsorships and see contract lifecycles through to completion, includes reconciling related payments and invoices
  • Manage budget to the smallest detail ensuring all event costs are tracked and properly scoped, and work closely with the procurement team
  • Wear multiple hats including copywriter, art director, campaign manager, interior designer, and gastronomy enthusiast
  • Oversee event staffing and support schedule
  • Drive dialogue and strategy with stakeholders and report on post-event success and ROI

What We're Looking For: 

  • 6-8+ years corporate event experience, working directly for a B2B technology company 
  • Demonstrated ability to have successfully completed large, complex, multi-layered face-to-face and digital conferences from speaker management to physical/digital branding to sponsorship under time sensitive deadlines with grace while understanding what’s priority and what is noise
  • Effective project management experience with experienced use of technologies such as Smartsheet, JIRA or similar
  • Experience with event technology, registration, mobile, and virtual event platforms
  • Outstanding communication skills - both written and verbal - comfortable championing projects internally and addressing the executive level
  • Ability to thrive under tight deadlines and ambiguity with limited resources.  Tenacity is expected.
  • Creativity and a healthy sense of humor
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field of study
  • Flexibility, and the agility to jump into (and between) projects as needed as well as possess the initiative to notice a need and offer assistance where applicable

We’ll be super impressed if you have experience in any of these: 

  • Track record of supporting technology companies, preferably in the cloud, network services and/or cybersecurity
  • Strong track record steering cross-functional teams in executing brand and pipeline results-driven events 
  • Strong track record in executing creative audience engagement ideas
  • Well versed in Google Drive, JIRA, Slack, Cvent, Marketo, SFDC, and Demandbase

Work Hours:

  • This position will require you to be available during core business hours. Travel is required to execute and staff events and may occur outside of core business hours.

Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home. 

Salary: 

The estimated salary range for this position is $104,830 to $154,170. 

Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

This role may be eligible to participate in Fastly’s equity and discretionary bonus programs.
