The LRC (Legal, Risk, and Compliance) organization at Valon is responsible for advising our company on the various legal, regulatory, and contractual provisions that impact the business. Our team members partner closely with our operations and technology teams to provide the applicable legal, compliance, and risk frameworks that help inform our business strategies. The LRC team is also responsible for managing and responding to regulatory, client, and investor audits and examinations. As a member of the LRC team, you will work closely with external examiners and internal clients across the company to coordinate, track, and respond accurately and timely to all regulatory, client, and investor examinations.

Senior Audit & Examination Manager

In this role, you will work with teams across the organization to manage and respond to regulatory, investor, and client audits and examinations. As a member of the LRC team, you will work closely with each business unit to ensure complete, accurate, timely, and compliant responses. We're looking for someone who has excellent project management abilities, deep mortgage domain knowledge, and experience working with both operations and external regulators and clients.

Responsibilities

• Intake audit and examination requests from regulators, investors, and clients
• Create and track project plans and timelines with responsible business units
• Monitor timelines and ensure that teams are meeting deadlines timely
• Review audit and examination responses received from the relevant business units to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Communicate with executive leadership team on examination response progress
• Interface with regulators, clients and investors regarding examination requests and any follow up inquiries
• Handle compliance-related examination and audit requests
• Work with the business to build a library of the most common and recurring audit and examination requests andexecute on these requests on a go-forward basis
• Establish and streamline audit and examination processes
• Work directly with the executive leadership team on findings, remediation plans, and responses for any flagged items

Ideal Background

• Previous experience managing and responding to examinations.
• Previous experience with mortgage servicer, regulator, or financial services company
• Previous experience working with insurance companies or insurance related products
• Experience creating and drafting policies, procedures and control documents.
• Experience creating project plans and tracking documents

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience in responding to regulatory examinations
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Financial Services (Mortgage Servicing preferred)
