Role Overview
The Senior Experience Designer translates user needs and business requirements into innovative digital solutions for a wide range of clients. This position demonstrates a strong knowledge of interactive best practices, including design, usability, information architecture, research, and technology standards for websites, desktop and mobile applications, and experiential activations. The Senior Experience Designer reports into the SVP, UX and mentors more junior staff. This position works closely with our strategy, creative and development teams to implement world-class interactive user experiences across web platforms.
The ideal candidate possesses a proficiency in UX methodology tools, across research, ideation and prototyping, interaction design, accessibility and user testing. They have excellent communication skills, are approachable, eager to roll up their sleeves and work in a vibrant, fast-paced, team-oriented, agile environment.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the UX strategy and execution for large integrated digital solutions.
- Participate in business discovery sessions/workshops that get to the heart of our clients, their businesses, their target audiences, and their content needs.
- Follow a design thinking process including conducting primary and secondary customer research and translating these insights into actionable recommendations.
- Lead research initiatives through planning and recommended methodologies including content & accessibility audits, heuristic evaluations, contextual interviews, persona definition, journey mapping, card sorting, tree testing, and usability studies.
- Create and drive information architecture and UX deliverables including sitemaps, process flows, responsive wireframes, clickable prototypes and functional annotations.
- Create components that translate content strategy, and maintain a component library within larger, more complex design systems.
- Prepare and lead workshops and brainstorming sessions with clients and internal cross-functional teams.
- Help to maintain client relationships, building trust through presenting UX deliverables, and proactively educating clients on UX best practices and methodologies.
- Support new business efforts through pitch research and provide estimates for UX contributions for the proposed solutions.
- Manage projects from concept to completion with minimal oversight.
- Promote a positive UX team environment, as well as maintain strong relationships and a shared language with cross-functional peers.
- Guide junior level staff with UX best practices, consistently share ideas and inspire by example.
What You’ll Need
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a user experience designer is required.
- Solid execution of UX best practices and experience with research resources & methodologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid understanding of web technologies, CMS & DXP platforms and trends, and component design and templates.
- Advanced proficiency with Sketch, Axure or Figma as a prototyping tool (Figma preferred).
- Familiarity with Screaming Frog, UserTesting.com, Airtable, Miro, and Gather Content preferred.
- Strong understanding of atomic design and component-based design systems.
- Exhibits a strong aptitude for content strategy.
- Strong organization and task management skills and considers themselves extremely detail-oriented.
- Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environment.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiar with Accessibility WCAG guidelines.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- General Assembly or equivalent certifications preferred.
- Previous agency experience is helpful.

- The right candidate may be located anywhere in the US but must be willing to work east coast hours. We believe in the power of bringing people together so the right candidate must be willing to travel to the office as needed (at least two times a year) and as needed for clients, pitches, or internal meetings. If the right candidate is local, even better! We encourage staff to work in our Boston office 1-2 times per week.

This base pay range is specific to Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, and New York City and may not be applicable to other locations.
