Senior | Field Applications Engineer (Power Products)

Position Summary 

Field Applications Engineer will be responsible for pre- and post-sales technical support to customers of Wolfspeed’s SiC power devices to achieve design-in/win goal and grow business. A successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the selling process and experience to support customer with technical product specifications, product selection, system design, reliability, quality and manufacturing process. Target customers are from the companies of solar inverter, switch mode power supply, UPS, lighting, charger, wind power, traction inverter, energy storage, etc.

Responsibilities:

• Provide pre- and post-sales technical support for Wolfspeed direct sales and distributors through customer presentations and product demonstrations.
• Monitor & support customer design efforts; provide remote and on-site customer support.
• Assist customer design engineers to successfully incorporate Wolfspeed Silicon Carbide power products in their products. Answer technical inquiries from existing and prospective customers with proper documentation and timely feedback/analysis. Support new product launches, including training for Wolfspeed sales engineers and regional channel partners.
• Design, develop, document and distribute reference and demonstration platforms for SiC power product in target applications. Develop and present materials at technical seminars, tradeshows and distributor training.
• Provide market feed back to the company with consolidated customer requirements to define new products and product enhancements.
• Provide SiC technology and product evangelism within the region.

Minimum Requirements:

• BS Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years for power systems design or FAE position with practical experience
• Experience of working with sales to win new power designs
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Mandarin
• Presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• MS Electrical Engineering
• Proactively thinking and execution to grow business, result orientated
• Aggressive mindset with focus on winning designs at customers
