Senior Finance Analyst
Hearst Newspapers is looking for a Senior Finance Analyst to join the Corporate Finance Planning and Analysis team in New York. This role is responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly financial reporting and analysis for our division operating units. The Senior Finance Analyst will report to the Senior Director of Finance and interact with various senior executives and gain exposure to various areas within the media industry.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare weekly and monthly analyses of business trends and variances of financial results and Key Performance Indicators to be used in management reviews and strategic business analysis sessions.
- Gather and analyze financial information from various components of the business to develop reports for forecasting and results analyses.
- Coordinate reporting timelines and submissions with operating units.
- Manage report repository and make reports available to various reporting groups.
- Leverage technology and focus on opportunities for continuous process improvement through automation.
- Provide support and assistance on ad-hoc finance and accounting projects.
- Support group consolidations and financial close process.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
- CPA or Big 4 experience plus
- Previous experience in FPA required.
Skills:
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Excellent analytical skills; strong attention to detail.
- Strong inter-personal skills with all levels including management.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively without close supervision to meet all deadlines.
In accordance with applicable law, Hearst is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role if hired in New York City. The reasonable estimate, if hired in New York, is $100k-$115k. Please note this information is specific to those hired in New York. If this role is open to candidates outside of New York, the salary range would be aligned to that specific location. A final decision on the successful candidate's starting salary will be based on a number of permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to skills and experience, training, certifications, and education.
