Senior Finance Analyst - SPOMA

Purpose

Leads the financial performance and delivery of key P&L components for US Sports Marketing. Key business partner to the Sports Marketing organization. Collaborates with Marketing Finance Management in the development of financial plans, targeting, budgeting, forecasting, expense controlling and strategic planning of SPOMA investment. Responsible for timely and accurate preparation of financial reporting, and for financial analysis on an ad-hoc, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Ensures integrity and transparency of performance measurements against plans to assure financial and non-financial targets are achieved. Provides financial support for strategic and tactical decisions.

Key Accountabilities • Collaborates with Sports Marketing director(s) and business partners to plan, budget, forecast, and control Sports Marketing budgets to achieve targeted profitability and growth.• Collaborates with Sports Marketing Directors and VP on strategic projects to address business risks and opportunities and to influence the outcome. • Leads all financial aspects of US Sports Marketing contracts and maintains contracts in PMT (internal) database.• Provides action-oriented financial guidance and analysis in effective decision-making, identifying possible risks & opportunities.• Ensures financial and non-financial managers are provided top notch, timely, and highly accurate reports, information and analysis for their business decisions.• Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc analysis utilizing data from multiple internal and external sources.• Contributes proactively with reports and controls improvement ideas in a fast-paced environment . • Creates and delivers educational materials and training to business partners related to budget and forecast.• Collaborates with Senior Finance Manager to ensure that Sports marketing budgets are executed timely and accurately.• Collaborates with Global HQ on a regular basis with reporting, business follow ups and monthly updates.• Owns the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close process; establishes quality control over financial transactions and reporting related to SPOMA transactions.• Acts as key point person for SPOMA audit exercises.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:• Strong skills in Excel, ability to manage large info databases, proficient skills in Word, PowerPoint, and SAP (or other ERP software)• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, cross functional business leaders, and peers, including non-financial professionals.• Demonstrated analytical skills, comfort with Finance and/or Accounting principles.• Proven cross functional ability to create creative and innovative solutions within an entrepreneurial environment.• Strong prioritization skills, detail oriented, and the ability to accomplish multiple assignments under tight timelines.• Ability to troubleshoot and define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions to find a solution.• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, challenging environment.• Sporting goods industry and adidas business knowledge preferred.

Qualifications (Minimum required education and experience): • University degree in Finance, Accounting or Business; MBA/CPA preferred• 5-7 year's experience in business or financial analysis or planning • Industry specific experience preferred• Solid accounting skills and experience preferred• Advanced Excel skills required• Familiarity with SAP and other relevant adidas and industry Finance systems/analytical software preferred
