Senior Finance Associate
Job Description
Geode Capital Management, LLC (“Geode”) is seeking a Senior Finance Associate to become an integral member of the Finance team, reporting to the Controller. This position provides a unique opportunity to join a small finance team in a rapidly growing business.
This is a hybrid work environment opportunity with requirement of 3 days in the office per week.
Responsibilities:
- Complete fund accounting reconciliations monthly, proactively investigate and resolve any differences between custodian and administrator reporting, and manage reporting deadlines
- Prepare deliverables for the monthly close and provide to Corporate Accounting
- Prepare management fee invoices on a monthly and/or quarterly basis
- Assist in review of management company financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, reports to unitholders, and various account reconciliations
- Prepare and review ad-hoc investor and internal reporting
- Assist with the annual audit process, respond to audit requests and provide documentation
- Support Legal and Compliance with regulatory filings as needed, and any other ad-hoc requests
- Identify ways to streamline and operationalize processes and collaborate with members of the Finance team, as well as other teams, to implement said improvements
- Assist Controller with ad-hoc projects, as needed
- Maintain internal controls and thorough documentation of policies and procedures
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
- CPA, MSA, or MBA designation preferred
- Three plus (3+) years of experience in accounting, corporate finance, investments, tax, or financial management
- Mutual Fund, SMAs, or Hedge Fund experience preferred
- Knowledge of finance and accounting principles, practices, and reporting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Excel skills
- Experience with database technology (SQL), investment systems and Excel macros preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both oral and written
- Highly collaborative including with cross-functional teams
