Senior Finance Manager, Ocean
Job Description
You will:
- Lead budgeting/forecasting, performance management, financial reporting, headcount management, reviews of key financial metrics, strategic decision making, business reviews, strategic footprint planning and ad hoc analysis of financial metrics for Flexport’s Ocean business
- Be an expert at building financial models and manipulating data to better understand the complex relationships in our business and evaluate the economic implications and trade-offs of various business actions. Recommend changes or develop frameworks that optimize for the overall health of the business, rather than any single KPI. Prepare medium to long term scenario analysis to facilitate discussion on long term asset planning
- Provide management with insights into drivers of unit economics, revenues, gross margin, client profitability, product performance, and expenses, as well as risks and opportunitiesÂ
- Drive the overall finance program management including deliverable management, global standardization, template creation and regional reporting alignment
- Work cross functionally with Accounting teams on the development and implementation of tools, systems and processes to support the successful completion of timely and accurate accounting closings and forecasts
- Support the various planning and forecasting cycles (annual planning, quarterly/monthly/weekly outlooks) for the Ocean business unit
- Develop ad-hoc reports and analysis to support strategic planning as needed
- 7+ years financial analysis experience in freight forwarding company or industry adjacent
- Exceptional leadership skills: coaching, mentoring, running a high performing team
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting, or related experience
- Analytical background working directly in an FP&A, Strategic Finance or Business Operations environment modeling and analyzing financial performance
- Excellent communication, listening and influencing skills
- Strong command of written and spoken English
