Position Overview

The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role within the Finance team. Their responsibilities will encompass a range of accounting functions, including essential accounting tasks, financial analysis, and supporting our team in maintaining accurate financial records. This role requires a high level of analytical skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment. The ideal candidate for this position will be characterized by their initiative, curiosity, and a proactive drive to understand the intricacies of our business.

Essential Functions, Duties & Accountabilities

1. Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, encompassing all accounting tasks (such as journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, etc.) primarily related to the following categories:
   1. Advertising expense
   2. Fixed assets
   3. Intercompany eliminations
   4. Royalties and client commissions
   5. Sales returns reserve
   6. Digital outside services
   7. Foreign entity activity rollup and upload
   8. Sales managers bonuses
   9. Lease accounting
   10. Inventory count process documentation and results reporting

1. Prepare weekly, monthly, annual and ad-hoc schedules, reports, and analysis.
2. Prepare monthly census reports.
3. Collect sales tax records from different systems and submit them to the processor.
4. Preparation of year-end audit and tax workpapers and collaborate with auditors regarding their inquiries and requests.
5. Ongoing enhancement of processes and the maintenance of documentation consistency.
6. New report generation and maintenance.
7. Provide backup assistance to finance team department in cases of absence as required.

Additional Functions, Duties & Accountabilities

1. Serve as a member of Finance Team and support others as necessary.
2. Maintain flexibility in work schedule to meet business needs.
3. Actively and positively contribute to the overall success of the company through regular contributions to the general management of the company.
4. Participate and provide leadership in inter-departmental meetings, projects and informal activities.
5. Support the company and other departments wherever and whenever your skills and experience would be beneficial.

Educational Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.

1. CPA, MBA, and/or CMA preferred.

Experience and Skills

1. Minimum 5-7 years of related experience.
2. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Vlookups, pivot tables, etc.)
3. Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve accounting and financial issues.
4. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
5. Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees.
6. Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
7. Ability to multi-task in a professional and efficient manner
8. Capacity to operate in a collaborative and dynamic environment

Specialized Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1. Experience in multi-channel direct response retail marketing environment highly beneficial.
2. Experience with sales tax administration a plus.
3. In-depth understanding of GAAP
4. Hands on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power B.I., Vertex, FAS Fixed Asset accounting software desired.
