Department Summary:

MITRE's Finance organization is seeking a Senior, Financial Analyst to support the MITRE Public Sector Program Finance Team, which provides financial support to MITRE Public Sector and its Department Managers, and Project Leaders. As a Senior, Financial Analyst, you will serve as a trusted advisor in support of the MITRE Sector Financial Management organization. As a Financial Analyst/Advisor, you will serve as the primary source of day-to-day financial management and business decision support to Department Managers, and Project Leaders - playing a key part in the business operations functions that maximize MITRE's value to our government sponsors.

The role will be hybrid and located in our McLean, Virginia office.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Full-lifecycle financial, and end-to-end business support of direct work programs
  • Ensure strong operating financial controls and adherence to FAR, CAS, and MITRE finance policies
  • Collaborate with the Accounts Receivable group to maintain timely accounts receivable and sustain positive cashflow
  • Support Business Transformation & Process Reengineering Efforts
  • Provide continuous proactive service & support to Project Leaders and Department Managers
  • Develop and maintain vertical and horizontal relationships within Program Finance to bolster solid support system for PLs and DMs in to order to maintain service levels and adequate support needs
  • Ensure accurate processing and documentation of financial reporting/transactions to ensure established levels of quality and efficiency KPIs
  • Utilize and apply best practices regarding tools, technology, and standard financial processes
  • Drive operational improvements in the day-to-day execution of the Program finance function
  • Execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing and reporting of internal and external financial information

What you will need to perform in the role:

  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of finance and/or accounting experience, preferably within the US Government (Federal) practice of a professional services firm. In lieu of degree, relevant experience will be considered.
  • Experience with Deltek Cost Point, and or Cognos Analytics preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (ie Pivot tables & Core functions)
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent work streams while maintaining high quality output
  • Strong attention to detail resourceful self-starter who executes on commitments
  • Mindset of continuous improvement with the capacity to drive change
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation, and influencing skills
