We're looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join the finance team supporting one of the highest growths and highly profitable business with-in Thomson Reuters. Our team combines strategic thinking with data driven decision making to enable the business to realize its true potentials.

The Senior Financial Analyst will focus on supporting Corporates business segment including both Tax and Trade and Global Firms sub-segments. This is a high visibility opportunity for you which requires someone to operate in fast paced environment and balance multiple priority projects at the same time. This is also a team lead role responsible for leading a small but highly competent team and is expected to seamlessly switch between a coach and player role as situation demands.

The Senior Financial Analyst will have a unique vantage point to get a full P&L overview for the business and should have the financial acumen to balance risks and opportunities to ensure continued profitable growth. You would be expected to connect the dots between various parts of the business ranging from GTM Organization, Product Marketing, Marketing, Commercial Policy, and Strategy etc.

About the Role

In this opportunity as a Senior Financial Analyst, you will:

  • Engage with business GMs, Sales VPs, and Customer Success (Retention) organization leads to ensure they are equipped with key metrics and tools to make sound financial decisions
  • Assist in the quarterly business reviews (QBRs)in close partnership with business and segment finance partners
  • Operationalize the strategic initiatives of Product migrations (move to cloud)
  • Support the Sales forecasting for the business by being the finance representative at the table, in partnership with Sales, Marketing and Sales operations colleagues
  • Partner with Sales & Revenue planners to understand drivers of Quarterly Revenue forecasting, and execute on long range planning ensuring financial goals are realistic as well as challenging
  • Communicate the monthly financial results to business partners for Sales, Revenue and Direct ExBITDA, and build long term trusted relationship as the go to Finance resource for understanding financial performance drivers
  • Partner closely with Customer Success team to set and monitor Net Retention Rate targets and Retention reporting aligns with expected details on real risks vs timing
  • Partner with Commercial Excellence organization to track the successful realization of higher Price increases and keep business aligned with the progress made
  • Own the customer level analytics to quickly identify trends and effectively communicate to the business to unearth hidden opportunities and risks
  • Collaborate with wider DSIG organization to inculcate best practices across the organization and improve or share Corporates' finance activities

About You

You're a fit for the role of Senior Financial Analyst, if your background includes:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in Finance roles supporting a business especially GTM organizations
  • Bachelors degree or higher (MBA.CPA) strongly preferred
  • Proactive, very organized, ability to multitask, managing time and competing priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Strategic and critical thinker, Self-starter with proven ability to work autonomously, collaborate and influence key leaders within the context of a complex, matrix organization to drive results
  • Ability to manage a team/team members and develop staff ensuring cohesiveness, collaboration and clear linking of objectives and outcomes
  • Familiarity with data automation and analytical tools such as Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau etc.
  • Familiarity with accounting and financial reporting principles

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The location(s) for this role include one or more of the following (New York City, San Francisco, Culver City). The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $78,500 - $145,800. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
