Position Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst, Gourmet Food and Gift Baskets (GFGB) Wholesale is a key member of the Food Group Finance team whose primary role is to partner and collaborate with wholesale functional business partners in support of the overall business strategy. The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining financial models and business cases to support executive level decision making and the financial planning process. This includes converting complex business plans into functional forecasts, developing, and maintaining operating scorecards, and providing proactive analysis, insights, and recommendations to support strategic decisions and optimize business performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilites
This position is responsible for following analytical best practices, accurately reporting, and analyzing business results, identifying insights for decision making, and developing an unbiased, holistic view of the key drivers of business performance. This is achieved by executing diagnostic processes that survey current business performance and determining opportunities for the improvement of financial and business objectives.
To accomplish this, the Senior Financial Analyst must have solid knowledge of finance and/or business analytics. This individual will collaborate with finance peers to ensure that insights are understood and incorporated into work products. Additionally, the Senior Financial Analyst must be able to work effectively within a matrixed organization and demonstrate self-leadership skills and the ability to influence and interact with various levels of the organization.
This position is the primary Finance supports for the total GFGB Wholesale Business. Key areas of responsibility include:
- Partner with the sales and operations teams to identify and support execution of new sales opportunities and cost saving initiatives
- Consult and advise the Sales team on pricing and cost of merchandise decisions
- Create and maintain full P L budget, forecast and monthly analysis of financial performance for the Wholesale business with the support of functional leaders
- Develop and maintain comprehensive planning tools to support the full P L
- Lead various ad hoc analytical and reporting projects, as assigned.
- Participate in multifunctional project teams that evaluate, recommend and monitor the implementation of new business initiatives.
- Prepare management reports defining and evaluating problems and recommending solutions.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education and Experience
REQUIRED
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field plus 3 years' experience in finance or analytical role
- Experience in strategic and financial modeling (2+ years)
- Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc.)
PREFERRED
- Master's Degree in related field (e.g. MBA, MS Finance, MS Accounting, etc)
- Prior Pricing or Operations FP A experience desirable
- Experience with multi-dimensional databases such as BOARD, Oracle SmartView or Hyperion preferred
- Experience with SAP, Oracle or other ERP
- Experience with business intelligence and reporting tolls (e.g. Tableau, Business Objects, MicroStrategy, SQL)
- Manufacturing, Wholesale, Direct Response or Retail industry experience
- Demonstrated time-management and multi-tasking skills coupled with a keen ability to prioritize assignments.
