THE POSITION

Candidates will have outstanding partnership and communication skills, handle multiple priorities, possess deep attention to detail, and an unrelenting drive to get to the answer. Leverage their expertise and back-office relationships to understand the financials (P&L/ Balance Sheet), budgets, and reporting. Somewhat independent; able to analyze data and turn it into insightful information through financial acumen and to communicate solutions to various levels.
This position will also have the opportunity to support other areas of the department through specialized assignments, corporate projects, and/or ad hoc reporting.
Change Management: Serve as a change champion in support of operations within the Finance operating model and achieving finance transformation goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES• Perform month/year end closing tasks and ensure reporting for P&L and Balance Sheet statements are completed accurately and on time including actuals and forecast in accordance with corporate accounting (Hanover, Germany) policies outlined in Finance Reporting Manual and IFRS guidelines.• Analyze and consolidate management financial reporting on a periodic (monthly/quarterly/annual) and ad hoc basis on actuals, budgets and forecast to project year end impacts including variance explanations for the Sales Company.• Perform and review GL Account reconciliations by analyzing data, identifying, and correcting errors to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial information.• Provide support to business unit accounting groups including but not limited to monthly close, by analyzing results to identify trends to support changing business needs. • Assist in the preparation, coordination, and submission of the annual budget for the business areas. • Assist in the preparation of quarterly management financial presentations for review of results (ACT, FC, Budget). • Provide guidance and management of preparation and review for the improvement of balance sheet reconciliations for sales company.• Interview, hire, train, and provide ongoing guidance to the sales company intern.
Assistance in other accounting areas include but not limited to:• Fixed Asset Accounting - Supporting the R&D department with the creation and maintenance of fixed assets procedures and controls. • Assist with the coordination and consolidation of the governance, risk, and compliance reporting and EU Directive 8 internal controls testing & reporting as it relates to assigned companies.• Participate in various projects for process improvements, new reporting, policy compliance, etc.

Job Requirements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant• 5+ years of professional experience in an Accounting/Finance function• Proficiency in MS Office tools • Strong Excel experience • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills• Possess a 'go getter' type mentality, who wants to constantly learn and grow, and is not afraid to challenge the status quo

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 7+ years of professional experience in Accounting/Finance function• CPA/CPA candidate• Exposure to IFRS accounting and financial reporting• SAP ERP and BCS knowledge & hands-on experience• Effective written and verbal communication skills• Strong organizational skills
