Summary:
The Senior Financial Analyst will serve as an integral part of the finance team to support the Treasury, Accounting, and IT departments. This position will primarily be working in a senior financial analysis role, assisting the Director Financial Analysis within Treasury. This role will be responsible for strategic analysis of IT project operating expense analyses, technology related spend projections and budgeting, project management support and monthly reporting, contract review and financial impact analysis to support vendor selection, telecom expense analysis and evaluations of capital spending and technology implementation along with other ad-hoc analyses as requested.
Qualified candidates will demonstrate strong skills in analytical problem solving, general ledger accounting, financial analysis, data querying, report presentation, and organizational skills. Candidate should also demonstrate keen attention to detail. The Sr. Financial Analyst will work with personnel from various corporate entities, hospitals, and shared service centers to obtain information and present actionable solutions. Much of the analysis will be new and will require the position to think critically through problems and use resources to obtain the information.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead Financial Planning - develop and analyze end-to-end financial analysis for IT projects monthly and report on progress through forecasting, reporting, and performance reviews.
- Drive Financial Performance - FP&A helps drive the financial performance of MIS's programs by identifying and managing key drivers, developing financial, cost and statistical models, working with colleagues throughout CHS to improve and manage and benchmark the project's performance, and analyze IT telecom spend and identifying unused or duplicative services throughout the company.
- Act as Internal Consultants - FP&A supports the CHS Executive Team through internal consulting projects, collaborating with functions throughout the enterprise with the goal of maximizing profitability for the Company and improve process efficiencies.
Education/Experience:
- At least 4+ years' experience in financial planning and analysis
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
- MBA/CMA/CFA/CPA preferred
- Experience as a strategic thinker with the proven ability to communicate new concepts effectively to implement new ideas smoothly
- Proven analytical experience, including the ability to think independently and drive projects to a thorough conclusion
- Operational Finance experience, strong cost accounting understanding; working with MIS/operations personnel responsible for making purchasing decisions
- Strong financial controls experience
- Strong experience with Excel
- Strong data presentation and PowerPoint skills
- Superior analytical and financial modeling skills
- Experience in working in a fast growth organization
- Experience consolidating financial reports from multiple GL systems
- A self-directed individual with a strong ability to manage ambiguity and adapts readily and easily to changes in priorities and business conditions
- Comfortable working with very sensitive data and can maintain a high degree of discretion
