Thomson Reuters Special Services (TRSS) has an exciting opportunity to join the finance and accounting team. This role will have the opportunity to build the structure needed for accurate profitability and performance tracking and to assist leadership with decisions that will continue to drive our organizational growth. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will spearhead the development, implementation, and management of processes related to budgeting, forecasting, reporting, profitability analysis, and pricing.

About the Role

In this opportunity as a Senior Financial Analyst, you will:

Budgeting & Reporting
  • Prepare monthly departmental budget to actual reporting - which includes interacting with Departmental Leaders to ensure budgets are reported accurately and on-time, and variances to plan are researched and analyzed
  • Develop structure and consistency around corporate and departmental reporting initiatives
  • Lead the implementation and automation of the budgeting and forecasting process within Unanet
  • The ability to accurately track and forecast headcount against regularly fluctuating contract and operational needs
  • Develop new and effective reports from Unanet to assist with profitability analysis and ad-hoc requests from senior leadership
  • Liaise between TRSS and parent company Finance and Accounting teams regarding periodic and ad-hoc reporting requests


Pricing Support
  • Prepare initial pricing model and analysis for Financial Manager review
  • Spearhead the development and standardization of contract pricing
  • Prepare, manage, and improve pricing models for existing and new lines of business and contracting initiatives
  • Analyze and improve pricing processes and procedures
  • Develop and manage tracking system for historic and existing pricing initiatives


Forecasting and Analysis
  • Collect and review financial data from various sources to prepare corporate profitability analysis
  • Develop a formal process for the measurement of profitability and business plan feasibility
  • Provide budget-to-actual analysis and business decision support
  • Create, maintain, and update financial databases and spreadsheets, and generate various financial reports as required
  • Drive the development and management of capital business case initiatives and strategic initiatives


About You

You're a fit for the role of Senior Financial Analyst if your background includes:
  • Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance
  • 3+ years of experience with emphasis in providing financial analysis, tracking, and reporting
  • 2-4+ years of Accounting/Finance/Business experience with a government contractor (preferred)
  • Knowledge of FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) and experience with (T&M) Time and Materials, (FFP) Fixed Price contracts
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel spreadsheets
  • Comfortable managing large sets of data across multiple platforms and systems
  • Experience in process improvement and project management
  • Strong quantitative skills and core financial competency and the ability to create financial models
  • Conscientious, self-directed and entrepreneurial with the ability to work both independently as well as collaboratively with teams
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, and excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Deadline driven and detail oriented
  • Strong analytical skills
