Senior Financial Analyst

LexisNexis Reed Tech (a division of RELX, Inc) is looking to hire a Senior Financial Analyst to support the finance function for the Reed Tech Life Sciences business unit. In this role you will be responsible for the FP&A function and business decision support. You will be a key member of the Life Sciences leadership team and will be the finance lead for this fast-growing business.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage P&L budget, forecasting, and strategic planning process
• Assist in the month end close process for the Life Sciences BU
• Provide business decision support to the senior leadership team around growth initiatives, hiring plans, and go to market strategy. This support also includes standard monthly POS, P&L, Capital, and Balance Sheet reporting and variance analysis, plus ad hoc analysis as needed.
• Enhance and maintain SaaS-based revenue/POS model
• Partner with sales management to create annual sales commissions plans and process commission payouts monthly
• Assist product management, sales, and operation functions with pricing activities
• Support corporate requirements around reporting and forecasting timelines
• Support and ensure compliance to all RELX processes and polices in helping to support the Life Sciences business
• Partner with accounting and other support functions withing the organization to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Prepare presentation materials and lead varied financial presentations to senior leadership within Life Sciences and Reed Tech

30/60/90 Day Plan

Within 30 days you will:

• Learn Life Sciences product portfolio and demo each product
• Understand the systems and reporting cadence for Reed Tech
• Develop relationships with Life Sciences leadership team and align on 2022 objectives and support requirements

Within 60 days you will:

• Own monthly financial reporting meetings
• Own revenue & expense forecasting model
• Own day to day finance responsibilities for the business

Within 90 days you will:

• Have submitted RF3/Preliminary budget for Life Sciences
• Be the key contact for all finance matters within Life Sciences

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a finance role, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and planning, with strong accounting background preferred
• SaaS/Life Science Industry experience a strong plus
• Very strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
• Leadership skills, proactive engagement, and ability to effectively interact with multiple layers of management
• Advanced Excel and MS Office skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
• Knowledge of PeopleSoft and Hyperion financial systems a plus
• Process improvement skills a plus
• Business degree, MBA a plus
