Summary

The Etch Semiconductor business unit is a leading part of the current and ongoing growth of Applied Materials and is a key element of its strategic position in the semiconductor equipment market. This is a Senior Financial Analyst role focused on Revenue and Gross Margin analysis, reporting to the Etch Assistant Controller. This role is critical to for driving growth and profitability for the Etch BU, delivering predictable revenue & gross margin results for the corporation, and contributing to the long-term success of Applied Materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in and owns portions of the preparation of the annual operating plan, long-term strategic plan, quarterly forecasts and quarter-end financial reporting for revenue, gross margin, and the balance sheet
• Develop complex modeling in support of strategic plans, business sizing and performance management
• Collaborate with Business Management on customer deals, including profitability analysis
• Partner with Business Management to drive accurate forecasting and reporting as relates to customer evaluations of new products
• Coordinate with corporate accounting to ensure accurate forecast of revenue impacted by multi-element arrangement requirements
• Partner with world-wide operations to manage build plan, inventory, and drive high accuracy of cost forecasts
• Develop complex modeling in support of strategic plans, business sizing and performance management
• Collaborate with BU finance teams on process improvements and support key corporate initiatives
• Supports Etch Assistant Controller and business unit CFO with ad hoc data analysis requests or projects (incl. Product / Program valuations, detailed spending analysis, inventory analysis)
• Proficient at extracting and manipulating datasets from relational databases
• Experience extracting insights from data and presenting them to an audience

Qualifications & Preferences

• Proven competencies in financial analysis, communication and working cross-functionally
• with different levels of management to drive results.
• Self-starter: able to maintain financial cycle deliverables identify change and drive items to closure with minimal management oversight.
• Experience with financial modeling, with proficiency in using Excel or other related tools
• Experience with Semiconductor Equipment or Components Manufacturing is desired but not required
• Foster a positive team environment, support team members and actively share ideas to help the team and business meet its objectives
• Experience in extracting and manipulating data sets using SQL or another programming / scripting language (e.g. Python, R) - Is a Plus
• Experience with data visualization/analytics tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI)
• Experience extracting insights from data and presenting them to an audience

Education & Experience

• Master's degree preferred
• 7+ years of experience, semiconductor equipment or components manufacturing preferred
