About the Job
CNA is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analysist to join the Field & Distribution FP&A Team. The Field & Distribution FP&A team primarily partners with leaders in the Underwriting, Field, and Distribution teams to deliver deeper insight into P&L results and our broker and agency relationships driving improvements in growth and profitability. Additionally, this role will optimize and streamline reporting and critical operational processes, build out new analytical resources, lead special projects, and be a key player in financial forecasts and plans.
Your Day to Day
  • Develop forecast and what-if models based on comparative performance metrics and implement improvements as the business grows
  • Support CNA Branch leadership in contextualizing performance against corporate and branch level goals and targets
  • Analyze company performance to generate insights into CNA's broker compensation agreements
  • Maintain strategic workflow of broker compensation calculations to inform accurate expense recognition
  • Review broker payment reconciliation to provide stronger customer service to strategic brokers
  • Leverage financial expertise to recognize and resolve emerging issues, independently investigate anomalies and variances in data
  • Manage multiple constituents and requests to build relationships and deliver maximum value to the organization
  • Extract or summarize key insights, clearly and concisely communicate insights with actionable recommendations to senior leadership

Basic Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of corporate and departmental accounting/finance practices, procedures and principles
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Excel skills
  • Track record of delivering results with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and self-motivate in a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to work with senior business partners with tight deadlines

Preferred Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of an insurance organization and industry
  • Advanced modeling skills
  • Experience with the following or similar tools/systems: Alteryx, Tableau, Workday, Adaptive Insights, Thoughtspot, and Looker

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business or economics, finance, accounting, or equivalent
  • 2 or more years of finance experience or a related analytical field with progressively increasing levels of responsibility
