Position Summary: 

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), the Senior Financial Analyst will join as a critical member of our Corporate Finance and Accounting team.

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will assist in the development, implementation, and administration of a full range of financial planning, reporting, and modelling activity, including but not limited to compensation analysis, valuation support, forecasting, industry benchmarking, strategic initiative tracking, data visualization and process improvements. The candidate should be familiar with various Asset Management industry specific dynamics, such as pricing and compensation schematics, and be comfortable managing confidential information. 


Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as trusted partner through your understanding of the financial services industry, a client service mindset and analytical expertise to enable to enable decision support
  • Perform scenario analysis on variable compensation pools in accordance with Ariel’s compensation programs
  • Support and improve pricing framework and models to consider multiple variables (competitive landscape, investment capacity, operational scale, contribution margin and distribution strategy) and collaborate on client dynamics along with Sales, Legal and Compliance.
  • Provide treasury and revenue-based billing support and analysis
  • Model and analyze activity-based allocations across internal business units, investment franchises and product sets to support profitability-based decision making
  • Build and maintain headcount roll-forwards, budgeting, and ongoing predictive analytics
  • Assist with monthly financial reporting and ongoing analytic deliverables

Qualifications: 

Required: 

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required, with a focus in Finance or Business-related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience, FP&A or compensation related experience preferred, Asset Management industry exposure a plus.
  • Knowledge of financial scenario analysis, modelling, reporting, and leveraging compensation metrics to provide insights and decision support.
  • Experience / exposure to industry standard GL or ERP systems a plus (SAP, Sage, Oracle, etc.) and or visualization tools such as Power BI / Tableau.
  • Proven success with high proficiency analytical tools, such as, pivot tables, look-ups, macro’s and deep excel functionality. SQL, visualization, or system implementation experience a plus.
  • Strong appreciation for confidentiality.
  • Track record of working cross-functionally with other departments on initiatives and communicate concise and actionable insights.
  • Must be detail oriented and willing to be hands on, with demonstrated ability to manage time sensitive projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to diagnose and problem solve with minimal direction.
