FP&A is an integral part of the decision-making process at Lyft, embedded within the business to ensure we maximize ROI and drive to the best possible P&L outcomes. Lyft’s FP&A team is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Rideshare team to provide financial and analytical support to drive strategic decisions with a focus on Core Systems & Platforms which includes Lyft’s engineering organization. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will work directly with stakeholders in planning, forecasting and reporting key metrics to senior leadership.
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Core Systems & Platforms teams to develop and maintain annual budgets and monthly forecasts, closely monitoring actual expenses against projections and identifying areas of variance
  • Partner with every leader of the Core Systems and Platforms organization which includes Lyft’s Engineering teams, Data Platforms, Infrastructure, Mapping, Customer Platforms, Security Platforms, and learning
  • Own the forecast and close for hosting costs which are part of Lyft’s per ride expenses  
  • Partner closely with the accounting team during the month-end close process to ensure accurate general ledger and financial statement reporting
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including cost allocation, cost-benefit analysis, and ROI evaluations, to support decision-making processes and provide insights to engineering leaders
  • Undertake interesting and impactful ad hoc analytics and special projects as directed by Leadership
  • The work responsibilities of this role are expected to take place based on the Pacific Time Zone.
Experience:
  • BA/BS with 4+ years of experience in financial planning and analytics in a rigorous environment (Large company experience preferred either public or private)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment with minimal supervision
  • Detail oriented and highly organized self-starter with a drive to dig into complex problems
  • Process improvement oriented 
  • Ability to organize and track overlapping tasks and assignments, with frequent priority changes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Expert in financial modeling with experience manipulating large data sets, and building 
  • Strong G-Sheet and Slide skills is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate and influence effectively across various departments

Starting in September 2023, this role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year.

The expected range of pay for this position in the US is $100,040 - $142,500. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
