Senior Financial Analyst / Manager, FP&A

Position Summary: 

Synthekine is seeking an experienced and motivated FP&A Senior Financial Analyst/Manager to join our rapidly growing organization. Reporting to the Director of FP&A, this position will be responsible for supporting the financial planning process including long range planning, quarterly management reporting and ad-hoc financial analyses (e.g., valuation and portfolio prioritization). In addition, this role will be instrumental in improving our reporting and analytics capabilities by leveraging technology to scale the finance organization.
*Hybrid work schedule with minimum 2 days/week in office

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct the budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning process for all company functions with specific focus on CMC, Clinical and Pre-Clinical functions.
• Provide financial analysis by conducting actuals vs budget comparison, variance analysis, trends, and in preparation of financial results.
• Assist with Finance-scaling projects such improvement of existing tools (i.e., NetSuite Planning & Power BI).
• Improve each corporate function’s visibility to their financial results and purchase orders.
• Develop and maintain functional and corporate reports in the financial planning system and work with the business to improve existing reports.
• Partner with accounting team to support quarterly close and SEC filings (no responsibility for monthly accruals).
• Prepare ad hoc financial analysis and analytical support as needed (i.e., eNPV work).

Qualifications:

• BS/BA degree in Accounting / Economics / Finance / Computer Science 
• Sr. Analyst level: Minimum 4+ years of relevant financial experience in Biotech / Pharma (e.g., Corporate Finance, FP&A, Accounting) or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Manager level: Minimum 6+ years of relevant financial experience in Biotech / Pharma (e.g., Corporate Finance, FP&A, Accounting) or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Solid GAAP knowledge.
• Prior Big 4 our consulting firm experience specifically in Biotech / Pharma / Lifesciences.
• Highly motivated, decisive, and results-oriented individual with the flexibility and creativity to excel in a rapidly growing company.
• High level of financial problem-solving skills; works effectively to identify issues, gather relevant data, and provide solution-based recommendations.
• Ability to influence and manage the expectations at various levels of the organization.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills to facilitate interaction with all levels of the organization and outside audiences.
• Ability to explain complex concepts and problems in simple terms.
• Ability to demonstrate conceptual, innovative thinking in forecasting and workforce planning methods and techniques.
• Ability to work with tight deadlines and to prioritize workload for a team or individuals to meet deadlines.
• Expert Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Office suite, Oracle ERP/EPM/NetSuite a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• MBA degree or CPA.
• Big data management and analytical capabilities; Python, SQL, C#, Data Mining, Statistical Modeling, AI, Machine Learning, PowerBI, Spark, R.
• Broad experience in an emerging, publicly traded company environment.

The anticipated salary range for the position of Senior Financial Analyst/Manager FP&A based in our Menlo Park, CA office is $109,000-$132,000 (Sr. Financial Analyst); $129,000-$157,000 (FP&A Manager). The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience within the industry, education, etc.  Synthekine is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
