Job Overview:
The Senior Financial Data Analyst is a highly visible role that provides critical insights into financial results. This role will work alongside other members of the finance organization to help management understand and analyze financial results. This position will work with large amounts of data requiring advanced analytical capabilities and ability to work with data and financial analysis tools to provide meaningful insight. The role applies a mix of accounting and analytical, functional, and technical skills to develop and implement innovative solutions that promote continuous process improvement. The role also provides support to strategic projects and other finance transformation initiatives.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support monthly in-depth analytics of financial results.
- Support reconciliation of contract and claims activity between Contract Management System (CMS) and Great Plains (GP)
- Support the monthly AR portfolio analysis and reporting
- Safe-Guard Accounts Receivable Portfolio Aging analysis
- Accounts Receivable Executive Package for Monthly AR Operations Review
- Monthly Safe-Guard Allowance for Doubtful Accounts (AFDA)
- Support the development, deployment and maintenance of financial reports and dashboards including the collection of end user requirements and building reports to their specification in compliance with management approvals and controls.
- Develop tools and models to provide critical financial and operational information and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations
- Support the implementation of ongoing improvements/enhancements to financial reporting and general ledger platforms and related financial close and data analyses and reconciliation processes; drive process improvements and leverage technical capabilities to simplify and streamline financial close activities.
- Manage business application administration and maintenance for the Planful and Blackline platforms and GAAP deferral models including maintenance of metadata structures, application instances, report creation and maintenance, new release and enhancement projects, user access, and training.
- Serve as the Planful financial reporting and budgeting platform subject matter expert for support of features including consolidation processes, ad hoc reporting, financial planning and other enhancement projects or solutions.
- Maintain an understanding of the business finance reporting requirements: GAAP, Special Purpose, consolidations, stand-alone financials, and tax provision and compliance needs and how users leverage and use information to run functions.
- Provide oversight for corporate business system projects to ensure executed effectively in a timely manner and within budget.
- Support end users on training and critical Planful functionalities to facilitate financial data mining for analysis, inquiries, and ad hoc reporting.
- Support finance/accounting process improvement initiatives leading to enhanced efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting
- Support for ad hoc reporting requests from CFO and Executive Team
- Assist with annual financial audit and SOC compliance requirements
- Serve as liaison and partner with IT and provide support to other corporate business systems as requested.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance and/or management information systems, or equivalent degree required
- Minimum of 5+ years experience in a corporate reporting environment
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles along with accounting and financial close processes relating to consolidation, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
- Experience in data analytics required
- Experience working with one or more of the following as an administrator, implementer, or power user: SQL (plus but not required), Power BI, Snowflake, consolidation platform (Planful and Spotlight preferred)
- Advanced excel skills are required (working with large amounts of data)
- Ability to work in a collaborative cross functional environment
- Excellent organizational, analytical, conceptual, and communication skills are required. This position will have direct interaction with the Executive team
- The ability to work in a dynamic environment and be able to recommend and implement process improvements, work independently, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines is required.

- Experience with Planful and Blackline platforms a strong plus
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S
