Senior Financial Reporting Accountant

Job Description:

This opportunity is targeted to start in mid-September 2023.

The Senior Financial Reporting Accountant will be responsible for assessment of all technical accounting matters, assisting with accounting for M&A activities, as well as actively participating in month-end close process. This role will interact closely with members of accounting, finance, the internal audit team, along with independent auditors to ensure accurate reporting and full compliance with all external standards. This role will also be involved in the quarterly financial reporting and be required to perform financial analyses and other ad hoc projects when necessary.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform technical accounting research as needed and prepare memos documenting conclusions and proper accounting treatment. Interact with external auditors with respect to accounting conclusions reached.
• Assist in the preparation of the Company's SEC filings, including the preparation of footnotes and maintaining the documentation supporting information in the filing.
• Actively participate in the month-end close process.
• Assist with the accounting for M&A activity.
• Understand, document and properly account for the Company's stock-based compensation utilizing third party stock compensation software
• Participate in the Company's SOX compliance efforts including assisting with internal control documentation, identifying potential gaps, and assisting Internal Audit with implementing new controls as necessary.
• Provide detailed financial statement account analyses (e.g., balance sheet and cash flow fluctuation) for management and external auditors.
• Support both internal and external audits.
• Participate in the development of accounting policies.
• Support the accounting department on special projects and activities, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• CPA required
• 3-5 years experience in Accounting; 2-3 years of Big 4 experience combined with experience in a corporate accounting setting preferred
• Strong knowledge of technical GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
• A solid understanding of the concepts of internal control design and operational effectiveness

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Strong knowledge of GAAP including experience performing research on technical accounting issues and the analysis and reporting of financial data including an understanding of the basic financial statements, including cash flows.
• Proficient computer skills in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Strong work ethic and demonstrated ability to prioritize workload based on organizational demands. Operates with a sense of urgency as appropriate.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to interact directly with all levels of Management
• Knowledge and experience with SAP GL helpful, but not required
