Groupon is an experiences marketplace that brings people more ways to get the most out of their city or wherever they may be. By enabling real-time mobile commerce across local businesses, live events and travel destinations, Groupon helps people find and discover experiences--big and small, new and familiar--that make for a full, fun and rewarding life. Groupon helps local businesses grow and strengthen customer relationships--resulting in strong, vibrant communities. Even with thousands of employees spread across multiple continents, we still maintain a culture that inspires innovation, rewards risk-taking and celebrates success.

As a Senior Anaplan Model Builder on the Anaplan Center of Excellence (CoE) team, you will support our Commercial Finance team, which is a group of number-savvy professionals that partner with the business team to unlock all of their potential. The Anaplan CoE team brings best practice in software development that allows us to make data driven decisions.

We're a "best of both worlds" kind of company. We're big enough to have resources and scale, but small enough that a single person has a surprising amount of autonomy and can make a meaningful impact. We're curious, fun, a little intense, and kind of obsessed with helping local businesses thrive. Does that sound like a great way to grow your career? Let's get into the details:

You'll spend time on the following:

  • Become a more knowledgable and technical expert within Anaplan through completion of our best in class internal Anaplan enablement program
  • Become a knowledge and technical expert in Anaplan's data sources, sales compensation processes and attainment
  • Work with Global FP&A, Commercial Finance and Financial Systems teams to coordinate the overall architecture, design, development and maintenance of Anaplan applications
  • Business partnering: you'll work hand-in-hand with the Compensation and Sales teams to build scalable models for a variety of compensation plans
  • Become a subject matter expert on the ICM Model and model intricacies
  • System builder: you'll develop performance dashboards to surface insights
  • Perform data management tasks, pull data from multiple sources, and create integrations to bring the data automatically into Anaplan leveraging ETL tools like Snaplogic
  • Collaborate with other Anaplan CoE team members to comply with best build practices
  • Ad-hoc deep dives on pressing business issues and using Anaplan model builder expertise for solutions
  • Expand model ownership and expertise into new use cases over time

We're excited about you if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience as an Anaplan model builder required
  • You have SQL experience
  • At least 2+ years experience in Finance/Accounting or systems administration
  • System implementation or project management experience preferred
  • Ability to learn new systems/processes and quickly ramp up to support those
  • Hands on experience with operating in sprint cycles using Agile/Scrum framework
  • Demonstrate proactiveness to take up broader org level initiatives to improve overall process maturity
  • Clear communication and ability to create order out of chaos
  • Extract Transform Load (ETL) tool experience is a plus
  • You're savvy with systems and are comfortable with data architecture
  • You're super analytical and love getting in the details
  • You thrive in a fluid and dynamic fast-paced environment, and embrace ambiguity

This role is hybrid based out of our Chicago, IL office 2-3 days a week.
