Senior Financial Systems Engineer
Job Description
Position Summary
The Senior Financial Systems Engineer position is responsible for the overall planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's financial systems. This includes Oracle Fusion Cloud and EPBCS, as well as other related systems. The position will help define and drive long term strategy and improvements to these systems and related processes. As part of the Information Technology team, you will deliver solutions working closely with the Accounting, Finance, and Supply Chain teams.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of the organization's financial systems strategy.
- Manage the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the Oracle Cloud suite, including, but not limited to, Budget and Planning, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Treasury, Fixed Assets, Procurement, and Inventory and Logistics.
- Facilitate scoping and design sessions to ensure alignment with business requirements and translate those into potential improvements or system implementations.
- Develop automation within Oracle, including enhanced reporting and integration with supporting systems.
- Identify and enhance reporting needs to provide better visibility into financial and inventory management performance.
- Manage system security and compliance, including utilizing Risk Management to prevent and detect segregation of duties.
- Develop system controls and processes that are compliant with company policy and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrate technical proficiency in leading projects and implementing change initiatives as a technical expert within a specific product or process area.
- Develop and maintain all documentation and training for the organization's financial systems.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or equivalent education and related training.
- 8+ years of experience in financial systems being a liaison between finance and IT departments.
- 4+ years of experience with Oracle Fusion and EPBCS.
- 4+ years of experience managing strategic initiatives and programs.
- 2+ years of experience with Sarbanes-Oxley 404 - Internal Controls Over Financial Reporting.
- Strong knowledge of accounting and internal control activities, with a process improvement mindset.
- Experience with data analytics and BI reporting.
- Ability to drive organizational change through collaboration and partnership with operational and business leadership.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, with the ability to define problems and persuasively present conclusions.
- Conditions of Employment: Individual must successfully complete pre-employment process, which includes criminal background check, drug screening and reference verification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Biotechnology, healthcare, and/or laboratory industry experience a plus.
- Understanding of U.S. GAAP accounting, financial/reporting processes, management information systems, and database structures.
- Experience with supporting tools, such as Blackline, and global technology systems, such as Workday and Concur.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and seek guidance as needed to clarify assignments or request for information.
- Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail.
- Ability to excel in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment.
Physical Demands
- Must possess the ability to sit, stand, and/or work at a computer for long periods of time.
- Occasional lifting of items up to 35lbs. is required when installing some IT equipment.
Training
- All job specific, safety, and compliance training are assigned based on the job functions associated with this employee.
Other
- This position requires periodic travel and some evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
