What’s Interesting About This Role?
We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Writer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of writing high-quality financial content that is optimized for search engines. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of SEO, content strategy, and the ability to analyze and act on data from analytics tools. The Senior Financial Writer will be responsible for producing a high volume of content, promoting it through various channels, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure it grows our audience.
How Will You Make an Impact?
- Increase search rankings and traffic of GOBankingRates content via SEO best practices.
- Write an average of 10-20 pieces of top-tier financial content per week that caters to high-intent audiences by leveraging your knowledge of best practices in SEO, content optimization, and content strategy.
- Monitor and gather actionable takeaways from analytics tools to make editorial decisions.
- Work with the outreach team to ensure excellent content is promoted by sources, experts, and others with clear expertise and authority.
- Create posts in the content management system and update our tracking system with relevant information.
- Work with SEO specialists to ensure your content is properly optimized and meets user intent.
- Quickly handle updates and edits to content based on internal and client feedback.
- Share content across social sites and with interview sources and other high-Â profile contacts.
- Support the editorial team and collaborate with the wider content team when the need arises.
What Will You Bring to Us?
- At least 5 years of experience writing a minimum of 10 pieces (depending on content scope/word-count/etc.) per week in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
- Expertise in SEO best practices, creating content with EEAT (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness), and recent industry trends driving those best practices.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating excellent writing skills and SEO proficiency.
- Proficient in using content management systems and analytics tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Goal-driven, both personally and for the team’s overall success, with a proven record of commitment and resilience in the workplace.
- Provable expertise in a particular area of personal finance is a major plus.
The salary range for this role is $90,000-$120,000 per year, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
