NIKE, Inc., Beaverton, OR. Create innovative designs for Nike Performance Footwear products and partner with the cross-functional Category team to create a line from concept to reality. Provide leadership in creative design efforts, drive innovation and provide technical and professional specialized expertise in all aspects of the position. Develop seasonal creative strategies and clearly position Nike's performance and design leadership in order to ensure that creative strategies and products inspire key consumers and lead the business forward. Communicate creative strategies, product concepts and consumer insights to internal and external audiences. Finalize tech packages and proactively follow the execution of all product details, including construction, color, form, style, detail, fit, performance, graphic application, trim, and cost/value requirements. Review samples and clearly communicate changes to ensure timely completion of each footwear design project for the Nike Core Performance category. Assist design leadership and category team members in design, development, and product management to ensure the feasibility of designs and to ensure that proposed designs meet price points, merchandising needs, and product creation timelines. Build and advance Nike design development in collaboration with design management. Build awareness of current macro trends, colors, fashion, design and sports-related products through market research to keep abreast of consumer needs. Create original, innovative design concepts based on sport performance research data and athlete and consumer insights. Utilize advanced design 2D and 3D skills to create innovative final product designs that appropriately reflect Nikes design philosophy and standards and inspire targeted consumers. Up to 20% international travel required.

Applicant must have a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or Product Design and 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Experience must include:

  • 3-D modelling tools and 3D printing;

  • Market Research; and
  • Sustainable Design.

OR

No degree and 7 years of progressive work experience involving the following:
  • Footwear design/development;
  • Keynote;
  • Public Relations Training;
  • Illustrator;
  • Technical footwear manufacturing;
  • Rapid prototyping;
  • Product creation;
  • 3-D modelling tools and 3D printing;
  • MODO;
  • Heat press operating;
  • Laser machine operating;

  • Industrial Design;
  • Macro Trend insights/research;
  • Mood Board Development;
  • Consumer Insights Research;
  • Market Research; and
  • Sustainable Design.
