Senior FP&A Manager

About the role: 

The FP&A team at Skydio is seeking a talented business partner who thrives on executing in a fast-paced, rapidly growing organization. The role will report to VP, FP&A and will support Skydio’s G&A teams and Hardware Operations teams. Your responsibilities will include preparing and tracking budgets, designing and managing financial metrics, developing management reporting, and performing various ad hoc analyses. This is a hands-on, strategic role and will require a solid understanding of hardware development and manufacturing processes, direct and indirect COGS, cost optimization, inventory management, and short-term and long-term planning.

Location: This is a hybrid position that requires 2-3 days/week onsite at our HQ in San Mateo, CA. We offer relocation assistance if needed. 

How you'll make an impact:

• Lead zero-based annual budgeting and monthly variance/forecasting analyses for business teams.
• Lead financial analysis and design financial metrics to drive general cost optimization and gross margin improvement processes.
• Provide management reporting and analytics to senior management.
• Be a thought leader and a close partner for business and accounting teams.

Desired Qualifications:

• 5-10 years of FP&A, Strategic Finance or Operational Finance experience in a technology company involving hardware, manufacturing operations, supply chain, and logistics.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Proactive self-starter with the ability to multitask and prioritize appropriately to meet tight deadlines.
• Strong ability to communicate across different functions and levels of the company.
• Deep understanding of the hardware business model and key drivers of growth and profitability.
• Solid understanding of cost accounting fundamentals.
• Strong quantitative/analytical skills.
• Investment Banking or Management Consulting experience is a plus.

Compensation Range: The annual base salary range for this position is $144,500 - $190,000*. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. In addition to base salary, Skydio full-time employees are eligible to enroll in our benefit plans and take advantage of a variety of incentives and stipends.
