Senior FP&A Tech and Product Partner

POSITION DETAILS

Velocity Global is looking for a new Senior FP&A Analyst to join its growing Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, to directly support our Research & Development teams. This remote role will be based in the United States, but will serve global stakeholders and partners, working to ensure our enterprise budgets, annual plans, and long-term financial goals are tracked and met as we grow our technical platforms and projects. This role will partner closely with senior leadership in Engineering, Product, and Design teams as well as other cross-functional teams across Velocity Global to drive alignment of R&D dollars across the organization to maximize return. Specifically, this individual will assist in spear-heading the R&D monthly financial forecasting, annual budgeting process, operating plan variance analysis, identifying and driving cost reduction opportunities and measuring the return of R&D and product initiatives. This role will report to our Senior Director of FP&A.

 RESPONSIBILITIES

• Forecasting and Budgeting: Assist in the analysis of actual results, forecasts, and budgets. Work closely with senior tech and product team members across the globe to develop annual budget and periodic forecasts and understand the key drivers.
• Provide strategic guidance on financial feasibility for sustained growth in Technology and Engineering, including new project development, product launches, and workforce planning, product delivery ROI.
• Firmly promote zero-based budgeting principles and methods, with scheduled and unscheduled rigorous review of costs and forecasts.
• Support continued development of our team’s forecasting tool, Anaplan
• Provide financial insight and support to the team with variance analysis to budget and forecast for operating expenses, capital spend, and project spend.
• Monitor financial KPIs, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variances.
• Identify and drive gross cost reductions.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in an FP&A or similar consulting role
• R&D and product development analysis experience required
• Financial modeling and forecasting experience required
• Advanced proficiency with Google Suite including Sheets and Slides or Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with business planning software, preferably Anaplan
• NetSuite experience or similar
• Experience working with senior leadership and cross-functional partners, with a strong influence skills.
• Critical thinker and self-starter who embraces change and can lead innovation in financial reporting and modeling.
• Analytical skills and ability to work independently within remote teams
