ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for a Senior Fraud Investigator to join our rapidly growing Risk and Credit team and lead fraud investigations.  This person will play a key role in protecting our customers and our assets by identifying and mitigating fraud risks in partnership with the product, engineering, compliance and finance teams. The role will report to the Senior Manager of Fraud Strategy. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Review customer account information on file and conduct third party searches to identify patterns of synthetic identities or ID Theft
• Handle the investigation of fraud cases, interview customers & key partners, place disbursement holds, recover assets, analyze internal and external information, and file regulatory reports 
• Identify and explore new approaches, vendors and potential partnerships to assess risk capabilities for fraud investigations
• Prepare Unusual Activity reports (UAR)
• Summarize investigative finds and present recommendations 
• Participate in industry roundtables and exchange best practices/ fraud trends with other financial institutions

ABOUT YOU:

• At least 2-5 years of investigations experience within the Fraud department of a regulated financial institution 
• Strong analytical skills and proficient in SQL
• Understanding of synthetic identity and identity theft fraud
• Understanding of account take over and fraudulent transaction identification
• Familiarity with fraudulent applications and fraud rings
• Investigative experience involving use of third-party search tools such as LexisNexis
• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science or equivalent
