Senior Front-end Developer

Our IT unit, Customer and Partners, is seeking a Senior Front-End Developer. We focus on developing and maintaining digital solutions for If’s customers. You will belong into group developing self-service solutions for our B2B customers. Digitalisation is key in our strategy to be able to serve our customers better. About the role

As a Senior Frontend Developer, you will be responsible for leading the development of user interfaces for our web applications towards our commercial customers. You will work closely with designers, backend developers, PO’s and other stakeholders to create intuitive, responsive, and high-performance user experiences. You will also mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and ensure best practices are followed.
 
Key responsibilities:
• Lead frontend development projects, oversee frontend architecture, and ensure optimal utilization of the design system.
• Mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and enforce best practices and coding standards.
• Work closely with UX/UI designers, backend developers, and product owners to translate designs into functional, responsive, and scalable web pages.
• Optimize web pages for speed, scalability, and performance, identifying and addressing bottlenecks.
• Engage in agile processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
• Write and maintain automated tests, debug issues found by QA or reported by users, and ensure application stability and reliability.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, providing support to other teams as needed.
• Implement security best practices, stay updated with industry trends, and continuously improve frontend architecture and user experience.
• Deliver a seamless, intuitive user experience and participate in user research with UX experts.
• Manage and prioritize tasks, provide accurate estimates, and ensure project deadlines are met.

About the team

You will be joining our largest squad within the Commercial Tribe, known as Iffinity. This team is dedicated to developing a self-service digital solution for If’s commercial customers. The squad consists of around 10 members, and our working language is English, reflecting the diverse cultural backgrounds of our team. While we operate in a hybrid work model, most of our developers are based in Espoo.

Who are you? 

We are hoping that you have at least 5 years of experience in frontend development. You have proficiency in HTML, CSS, React and JavaScript and you have strong understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility. We also value experience with version control systems (e.g. Git), automated testing frameworks and knowledge on accessibility standards.
 
You also have:
• Bachelor`s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Excellent teamwork skills
• Ability to lead and mentor junior developers
