The Opportunity at Apixio:
Front-end engineers play a critical role in Apixio's product development, working closely with UX design, product management, and customer support teams to build and improve all aspects of our user-facing experience. As a senior Front-end Engineer at Apixio, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of healthcare by creating rich, intuitive, and visually appealing user interfaces that enable our customers to improve healthcare outcomes.
Who You Are:
You are a smart, capable, and technically excellent front-end engineer with a passion for building great user experiences. You have extensive experience building highly usable, visually appealing, and intuitive user interfaces, and you have the drive to make the healthcare industry better.
What You Will Own:
As a senior Front-end Engineer at Apixio, you will collaborate with design and product management teams to translate product requirements into our rich client layer, application components, UI widgets, and other functionality as required. You will evolve the architecture of our JavaScript application to deliver responsive functionality in a clean, extensible design. You will work with the latest cutting-edge libraries, such as React, Redux, and Immutable, and take a key role in growing our client code test suite. You will collaborate with our Product Managers and UX designers on product prototypes and help evolve our growing reusable component library. You will help define requirements for our API layer that translate into the accurate display of client-side application state. You will bring creative solutions to the table and participate in code and design reviews with your engineering colleagues.
In addition to the above, you will also be responsible for:
- Ensuring the accessibility and usability of our applications for all users, including those with disabilities
- Contributing to the development and maintenance of our design system, and advocating for design consistency and clarity across our product suite
What You Bring to the Table:
- 5+ years of Frontend development experience.
- A strong interest in best practices for UX and demonstrable design and aesthetic sensibilities
- 5 years of production experience with React
- Experience successfully partnering with design and PM to build component libraries and testing
- Display expert knowledge of JavaScript (ES6), TypeScript, CSS(3), and HTML
- A strong, hands-on technical track record and a proven ability to deliver at application UI and integration with web services levels
- Experience with client-side frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, Ember
- Experience with building rich single-page applications on top of RESTful APIs
- An understanding of design patterns and explain how they are used in the context of building front end single page apps
- Proven ability to be self-directed and operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- Experience with responsive design to ensure mobile-friendly web experiences
- Experience with unit, integration, and feature testing strategies
- Familiarity with healthcare informatics, including ICD and CPT code systems, and healthcare data standards such as HL7 FHIR and DICOM, is a plus.
The salary range below is for Base Salary. Total compensation also includes benefits and variable compensation. Compensation will be determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, skill set, years of experience, and the employee’s geographic location.
Base Compensation
$140,000—$175,000 USD
