Job Description

The team you will join: Account Access and Recovery

Our mission is to provide our customers with secure, reliable and convenient access to their Wise account.

We own registration, login and MFA.

Every customer who interacts with Wise touches something that our team owns, when signing up for the first time, or when accessing their account every time they check their balance, send money or invest in assets. 

We are a cross functional team of 16 including backend, web, mobile, data science, product and design.

The problems we’re working on currently are:

• introducing new ways to recover access to your Wise account when you lose your phone

• working on new methods of authentication like Passkeys to give our customers seamless access to Wise

• building out our authentication framework to provide adaptive MFA to keep out bad actors, and allow easy access to genuine customers

• using machine learning to prevent fraud

What does it take?

• A passion for technology, product and user experience
• A broad understanding of what it means to be a product engineer to drive measurable customer impact
• The ability to work independently and plan your own solutions to problems
• Thinking from the customer perspective and putting them at the heart of everything you do as you’ll guide them from their first experience on our landing page to completing a transfer and making sure they’re informed every step of the way

Qualifications

• You have experience working with modern frontend frameworks such as React (and Typescript) or similar

• Experience working with modern testing tooling such as Jest, Storybook, Cypress or similar.

• You have experience working with REST APIs

• An interest and understanding of security and authentication

• Understanding of good UX and comfortable working with CSS

• Desire for creating clean, testable code

• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both engineers and non-engineers

• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional peers in your team such as designers, product managers, analysts, researchers, etc.
