Senior Front End Engineer/ Full Stack Engineer (Remote Eligible)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Front End Engineer/Full Stack Engineer to help build and maintain solutions for our public facing websites. This role will have a relatively heavy focus on front-end development, while having many exciting opportunities that venture well into back-end development territory.

This role reports to the Director of Development and is based at Smartsheet headquarters in Bellevue, WA (or remotely) .

Responsibilities:

• Lead the building of scalable and maintainable solutions for our existing websites, using modular and reusable components.
• Drive, guide and direct new development efforts for our component based website systems, while keeping an eye on proper integration with our underlying content management system.
• Provide high level direction on front-end architecture and technical design/implementation of our websites.
• Maintain and improve overall performance of our websites, while simultaneously ensuring we maintain compliant with current standards and best practices.
• Work with other (non-technical) teams to gather requirements, propose and build solutions that allow them to accomplish their goals.
• Designing and developing micro services and APIs to support advanced initiatives that span both front-end and back-end functionality.
• Provide technical mentorship to team members

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience with web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• 5+ years of experience with PHP and MySQL
• Proficiency in object oriented programming
• Proficiency in implementing responsive code
• Experience developing on Drupal
• Experience building micro services or APIs
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Nice to Have:

• Experience developing with an eye on accessibility
• Experience with intrinsic design principles
