About the Team:

The Design System Team is at the heart of our product development ensuring that every user interface element component and interaction is crafted with precision and care. We collaborate closely with developers designers and product managers to build a robust design system that supports our diverse product range. As we continue to expand and refine our system we are focused on enhancing component reusability improving accessibility driving innovation in interaction design and maintaining the tooling that powers the system.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence how design is integrated into our development process and to lead the charge in creating tools and components that will be used across Wealthsimple's R&D organization.

What you will do:

• Collaborate with developers and designers to develop and maintain high-quality reusable UI components that are accessible scalable and performant

• Advocate for an implement best practices in UX development ensuring a seamless and consistent user experience across all products

• Work closely with product teams to understand their needs and ensure the design system evolves to meet those needs

• Contribute to the documentation and education around the design system helping to train and support other teams in using the system effectively

• Participate in code reviews design critiques and workshops providing thoughtful feedback and guidance to other team members

• Drive innovation in interaction design exploring new ways to enhance user experience through cutting-edge techniques and tools

• Maintain and update the platform and tooling used by the design system ensuring it remains reliable scalable and accessible for all product teams

Who you are:

• Extensive experience with front-end technologies including React React-Native and Typescript

• Proven tract record of building and maintaining components and libraries at scale

• Strong understanding of UX principles accessibility standards (WCAG) and best practices in responsive design

• Experience working in a cross-functional environment collaborating with developers designers and product managers

• Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for crafting pixel-perfect user interfaces

• Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate design decisions and rationale

• Familiarity with tools like Figma Storybook Chromatic and version control systems like Git

• A keen eye for detail and a deep appreciation for design aesthetics
