Senior Frontend Engineer, Cloud Services

At Fox Robotics, we move things and lift people. Our self-driving forklifts unload trailers on their own, helping warehouse employees accomplish more. And with our machine learning algorithms and frequent software updates, the forklifts become more capable over time.

The Cloud Services team is hiring a senior software engineer to work on the tools that our customers use to interact with the robots, as well as data visualization and analysis web apps used internally to monitor the performance of our fleet. While we’re primarily looking for an engineer with strong frontend experience, the team is also responsible for backend web services and data pipelines running in the cloud, and you’ll be expected to learn and contribute to the backend portions of the code base as well.

You’ll be part of an agile team and involved in the entire software development lifecycle, from design through deployment. You’ll also routinely collaborate with our product designer and stakeholders to ensure the features you implement deliver maximum value. Ideally, you are:

• An expert in TypeScript and React, with more than 5 years of industry experience developing web or mobile apps
• Experienced with REST APIs, MQTT (or PubSub in general), and 3D graphics
• Comfortable with at least a subset of Python, MongoDB, OAuth, and Android app development

Projects you may work on include:

• Upgrading the design and functionality of the Android app our customers use to operate our robots to support new features like trailer loading and remote task assignment
• Designing and implementing 3D visualizations of log data collected from the robots to help autonomy engineers understand and improve performance
• Building a web portal that allows customers to monitor their fleet’s performance and configure details of the robots’ operating environment
