Since 2022 we have successfully launched multiple guest travel insurance products in a number of markets. In 2024 and onwards we are expanding the eligibility and coverage for guest travel insurance and building new platforms to support its growth scalably.

The Difference You Will Make:

As a Senior Frontend Engineer on the Insurance Expansion Team you will have the autonomy to:

• Influence different surface areas across the company to enable seamless and extensible integration with the insurance platform.

• Influence the product and UX requirements by engaging early and often with designers product managers and other stakeholders to help steer teams on the most efficient path towards overall goals

• Design and develop robust tooling systems to support the growth expansion and customization of protection products.

• Launch expand and optimize our protection products across new markets surface areas and cohorts of users.

• Seize greenfield opportunities on a fast-growing team.

• Deliver on a strategic multi-year roadmap and global rollout for web platforms.

• Identify and propose solutions to problems coming in the way of product engineering excellence

• Help build out the team cultivate innovation and growth and nurture a culture of technical quality from design through code review to production operations

A Typical Day:

• Collaborating with Product Managers Experience Designers Data Scientists and Backend Engineers to design and deliver high-quality products

• Building efficient and reusable UI components and architecting reliable performant and scalable web solutions

• Conducting experiments and iterating features following data-driven approaches

• Identifying areas of improvement and driving web best practices

• Writing clean testable and maintainable code to implement the features and improve the platform.

• Facilitating and joining collaboration and execution of projects across multiple teams promoting innovation and growth.

Your Expertise:

• 5+ years industry experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree preferably in CS or equivalent experience

• Demonstrated knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals

• In-depth knowledge of web technologies including HTML CSS JavaScript/TypeScript and modern JavaScript libraries and tooling (e.g. React)

• Awareness of cross-browser compatibility issues and client-side performance considerations

• Passionate about the innovations and latest trends in frontend development

• Robust design and UX/product sensibilities

• Excellent communication skills

• Experience and desire to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams with design product data science and engineering partners.

• Experience with GraphQL is a plus

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites as agreed to with your manager.
