Senior Frontend Software Engineer, Luxe

The Community You Will Join:

The Luxe team owns a set of tools that enable our operations teams (trip designers, market managers, content & quality) to provide top-notch service to Luxe guests and hosts. We also own a number of customizations across the platform. We are currently focussing on growing the Luxe inventory and making the business more scalable.

As part of the team, you will focus on improving, modernizing and maintaining our tools and other Luxe surface areas. Luxe is also part of the Airbnb co-hosting team so you will also have the opportunity to work on other co-hosting initiatives, supporting a major company strategy while finding solutions in areas such as UX, performance, robustness and quality.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver new features that allow the Luxe business grow and scale
• Nurture a culture of technical quality from design, through code review, to production operations
• Mentor other engineers in developing their technical and collaboration skills

A Typical Day: 

• Refining the features with our Product Team, resolving product trade-offs
• Designing features and planning their integration directly into production
• Developing features iteratively during AGILE sprints
• Participate in all phases of software development from architecture/design through implementation, testing, and on-call
• Support teammates in enabling code quality, operational excellence, and shared learning

Your Expertise:

5+ years of hands-on software development experience, including frontend web development  

• Strong expertise with TypeScript/JavaScript 
• Strong communication skills and experience working closely with other engineering teams
• Passion for delivering products end-to-end: from ideation through planning and scoping to implementation and experimental A/B testing
• Experience or desire to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams with design, product, tech
• Independent, dedicated, and able to deliver ‘production ready’ code with minimal guidance
• Expertise developing solutions to ambiguous problems, and integrations across multiple teams with significant impact

Your Location:

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager.
