Senior Full Stack Developer

We are incubating a startup at the forefront of compliance automation, seeking to go from "zero to one" in revolutionizing how organizations handle regulatory requirements. Using OSCAL (Open Security Controls Assessment Language) as our foundation, we're not just improving existing processes – we're reimagining the entire compliance landscape. We're looking for an exceptional Senior Full Stack Developer who can think beyond conventional solutions and help us create something truly innovative in the intersection of technology and compliance.
We are seeking a visionary Senior Full Stack Developer who embodies the "zero to one" mindset. This role goes beyond traditional development; we need someone who can envision and create entirely new paradigms in compliance automation. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in both front-end and back-end technologies, with a focus on Python and React, but more importantly, they will have the ability to see opportunities for groundbreaking innovation where others see only incremental improvements.
Responsibilities:

• Lead the charge in creating first-of-its-kind solutions in compliance automation, moving us from "zero to one" in this space
• Architect and develop innovative features that challenge and redefine how organizations approach compliance
• Identify opportunities for disruptive innovation within the compliance lifecycle
• Drive the development of our OSCAL-based platform, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in compliance automation
• Develop and implement novel algorithms and data structures tailored for compliance automation
• Immerse yourself in the compliance domain, becoming an expert in NIST OSCAL. Participate in evangelizing the standard with the team.
• Architect scalable, secure solutions that address the nuanced challenges of compliance automation
• Stay ahead of emerging trends in both technology and compliance, recommending and implementing new approaches as appropriate
• Lead OSCAL-based development initiatives, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in compliance automation

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a Full Stack Developer
• Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale, complex software projects
• Expert-level proficiency in Python for back-end development and React for front-end development
• Strong experience with SQLAlchemy ORM and database design
• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply domain knowledge to technical solutions
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to see beyond the immediate technical challenge to the broader compliance implications
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical and compliance-focused stakeholders
• Experience in or exposure to the regulatory compliance field
• Familiarity with OSCAL or other compliance automation frameworks
• Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CMMC) and their practical application
• Experience in a role that required translating complex regulations into software features
• Relevant certifications in compliance (e.g., CISA, CRISC) or a willingness to obtain them
• Full-stack development with a focus on building flexible, scalable systems
• Data modeling and database design for complex, interrelated data sets
• API design and development, particularly RESTful APIs
• Cloud-native development and security with AWS
• Automation and scripting for compliance-related tasks
• Version control and change management in compliance-sensitive environments
• Performance optimization for processing and analyzing large volumes of compliance data
