Senior Full Stack Engineer (Java)

Project Description

This is a Sr. Software Engineering position supporting the Enterprise Decommission (ED) and Data Optimization (DO) group withing the Enterprise Technology, Infrastructure, and Platform Services (ETIPS) Organization. In this role you will partner with business and cross-functional development leads to engage with application teams to drive out archival and decommission requirements and deliver technology solutions in accordance with our 5-year decommission roadmap, enabling us to hit on strategic goals/MBO's which will result in significant savings back to the enterprise.

Responsibilities

• Review & analyze business requirements, work with business sponsor and project team members to manage and deliver on the project's stated objectives, providing leadership with a focus on outcomes.• Analyze and interpret data to develop innovative solutions to support business and integration partners in accordance with ERIM and Legal data retention guidelines• Design, develop, review, and deploy data integration solutions to support our client's domains for large complex legacy claims adjudication platforms which have been targeted for archival and decommission.• Plan and test software enhancements / updates, troubleshoot and help remediate defects.• Design and implement performance and operational enhancements• Design reusable components, frameworks, and libraries using patterns that encourage innovation to help enable and accelerate team velocity• Work closely with domain and dev architecture groups to design solutions that enable secure, scalable, and maintainable software and should be able to clearly articulate the implications of design/architectural decisions, issues and plans to technology leadership• Document application design for existing components and future enhancements to ensure that software meets business needs• Review code and provide feedback relative to best practices and performance improvements• Provide hands-on coaching and mentoring to junior software engineers• Troubleshoot production issues and support overall DevOps practices / model.

Skills

Must have

Required Qualifications:

5+ years' experience in Software Development / Engineering

5+ years' experience in data transformation and integration supporting large platform implementations

5+ years' experience managing the entire product life cycle from ideation to post-production with focus on driving out business requirements and translating them into technical design to support delivery.

Solid analytic skills related to working with structured and unstructured datasets

Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Frameworks, Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes

Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL DB technologies (MySQL, MS SQL, Hadoop, MongoDB, etc.)

Working knowledge of big data indexing / search technologies such as Apache SOLR and Elasticsearch

Experience with process tools (Rally/Jira), familiar with SDLC, Waterfall, and Agile delivery methodologies

Working experience with Cloud platforms. (AWS, Azure & GCP)

Proficient with MS Project, Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, and SharePoint

Solid project management and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors / Master's degree in Information Technology or related field

PMP or Scrum Master certification

Healthcare and/or large claim processing and adjudication experience

Experience presenting technical capabilities to stakeholders and/or Senior Leadership

Experience in writing a platform level code in either Java or Python

Knowledge of Frameworks / Technologies such as JSF, AngularJS/ReactJS, Rest API

Exposure to Apache Drill a plus
