Senior Full-Stack Engineer - JavaScript & Java Technologies

About the role:
We are looking for a Full Stack Developer to produce scalable software solutions within the Workplace engineering team. You will be part of a cross-functional team that is responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment. As a Full Stack Developer, you should be comfortable around both front-end and back-end coding languages, development frameworks, and third-party libraries. You should have solid software engineering experience in building commercial-grade web-based applications and scalable cloud-centric APIs (Applications and programming interfaces). A successful candidate will be able to play an active role in managing the prioritization of work to meet project goals.
The position is based in our Chicago office.
Job responsibilities:

• Work with development teams and product managers to build software
• Design & develop client-side and server-side architecture
• Build the front-end of applications using JavaScript technologies (VueJS, NodeJS)
• Write scalable APIs using Java-based technologies (Java 8+, Java Spring Boot)
• Develop software with a focus on security, availability, and scalability
• Write technical documentation

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a full-stack developer or similar role
• 1-3 years experience in any JavaScript frameworks (such as Angular, VueJS, node.js, React) and libraries (HTML5 / CSS3)
• 5-7 years experience in back-end languages (Java)
• Familiarity with any database technologies - Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL
• Experience in AWS (Amazon Web Services) based environment building serverless applications is a plus
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Great attention to detail and organizational skills

Nice to have:

• Experience within the financial services industry
