Material Bank is on the lookout for a Senior Full Stack Engineer with a genuine passion for data to join our Catalog team. Your role will be pivotal in evolving our platform, focusing on enriching our comprehensive product and materials catalog. This effort is central to Material Bank's strategy of facilitating faster and more informed decisions for our members and Brands. By creating an expansive, detailed catalog, we aim to become the go-to resource for materials selection, streamlining the sourcing process and enhancing productivity across the design industry. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, innovative solutions. Expertise in Node.js, Angular/React, Go, AWS, and related technologies is essential. 

What you’ll do:  

• Develop new internal applications supporting product catalog and interfaces and integrations, using Node.js, GO, and other relevant technologies. 
• Design and implement microservices architecture to ensure scalability and flexibility. 
• Utilize AWS services for hosting, deployment, and management of applications. 
• Develop and maintain APIs for seamless communication between different systems and services. 
• Design and manage databases using Postgres SQL for efficient data storage and retrieval. 
• Implement message queueing systems using Kafka for asynchronous communication between services. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement solutions that meet business needs. 
• Troubleshoot and debug issues in existing applications as needed. 
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve development processes and practices.  

What you’ll bring:  

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field. 
• 5 + years of experience in software development, with a focus on full stack development.
• Proficiency in Typescript, GO, and other relevant programming languages.
• Expertise in unit testing and knowledge of TDD & BDD development patterns  
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EKS/Fargate, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, Event Bridge, etc. Strong knowledge of API development and integration.
• Proficiency in Postgres SQL for database design and management.
• Familiarity with Kafka or similar message queueing systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
